Vinayagar has many names and been called by many names such as Ganapathi (Lord of Siva's attendants), Vinayagan(No leader for him), Pilayar, Vigneswaran(Lord of obstacles and Remover of obstacles), Gajamugha(Elephant Face) and etc.

Vinayagar is also called as Lord of obstacles as well as the Remover of obstacles. Which mean that He will not allow people to do sin or evil(Lord of obstacles) and He wil not allow anybody to be an obstacle when they do right thing(Remover of obstacles).
