Kuselan movie review, Ashok Kumar (Rajinikanth) which is the character in Kuselan is a well known actor and comes to attend a shooting schedule in a remote village. He happens to reside for a 1 month long shooting schedule and resides in a government guest house.
Balu (Pashupathi) is a village barber. His aged old scissors owned by him and his creaky chair offered to his customers depicts his earnings which are below the poverty line. He is called in the whole village as Barber Balu.
Incidentally Balu happens to be a childhood friend of Ashok kumar. But due to his self respect he denies to go to his actor friend for financial help. Balu has a wife (Meena) and three children. His earnings neither could earn him at least to pay his children’s school fees.
Sridevi (Meena) comes to know about the fact the her husband is a childhood friend to the superstar. Soon the word spreads through out the village and suddenly Balu’s life is changed. Soon he becomes a hero in the village.
Meanwhile, Sridevi pesters her husband to go a meet his actor friend. But Balu denies doing so.After the shooting schedule is complete Ashok Kumar (Rajinikanth) gets ready to leave the village. But is requested by a lady school principle to attend a school anniversary function.Rajini aggress to do so as a guest.
Meanwhile Meena asks her husband to accompany her to the school, function in order to have glimpse of her husbands’ friend. Balu aggress and accompanies her. They stand in a penultimate row of the crowd.
Ashok Kumar during the function recognizes his old child hood friend and soon calls him on to his stage. He narrates the sacrifice done by Balu to him and then delivers a message to all the crowds present there. Then the film ends in a happy note as Ashok Kumar accompanies his friends his small hut dwelling.
