AR Rahman calls Mani Ratnam Annan for the first time

AR Rahman calls Mani Ratnam ‘Annan’ for the first time: It is a very well known fact that both AR Rahman and Mani Ratnam have been sharing a wonderful rapport for the past 25 years. It all started with Roja that won first National awards for AR Rahman and now ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’ gets him more honours.

The academy award winner has been honoured with ‘Best Music Director’ for Kaatru Veliyidai followed by ‘Best Background Score’ for MOM. Sharing his note of thanksgiving through the video byte, AR Rahman has said, “It’s always been an immense pleasure working with Mani Rathnam.

Give him any ideas, he will inhale and give it back as an organic one. So much involvement and passion for everything and he is an ocean of ideas. He is my mentor, brother and friend.” AR Rahman also remembered the moment, when Late actress Sridevi came down to Chennai asking him to compose music for MOM and he said, “We miss her at this point of time.”

AR Rahman is once again collaborating with Mani Rathnam for the film ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’. The film is a multi-starrer one featuring STR, Vijay Sethupathi, Jyotika, Aishwarya Rajesh, Arvind Swami, Arun Vijay and many more prominent actors in the lead roles. The film has been titled as Nawab in Telugu and the shooting of this film has been stalled for a while and will be resuming shortly after the Kollywood strike is called off.
