The event was studded with superstars of Indian cinema and International Film fraternity Jackie Chan. Of course, though Kamal Haasan was the star who adored that evening, the entire throng was expecting what would be the words uttered by Jackie Chan.
Jackie Chan speaking to the occasion said “Today afternoon, I happened to watch few clippings of Dasavatharam and I was awestruck. Wow! Wow! Wow! I sat astonished for few seconds and I would be happier if I get an opportunity to work with Kamal Haasan. He sings, dances, performs different roles, performs action stunts without dupes and he is a real superstar". Turning out to Amitabh Bacchan, " If we are super stars, you are the most superstar of superstars in the tinsel town". Also added that he must work with Amitabh Bacchan, Kamal Haasan and Malikka Sherawat together and jocularly stated Kamal Haasan should perform action while lots of love scenes will be done by himself and Malikka Sherawat. Jackie Chan, one of the world's most popular action heroes, arrived in Chennai by a Singapore Airlines flight on Thursday evening. After a red carpet reception at the Anna International airport amidst tight security, Jackie Chan and his 10-member entourage were taken to the hotel. Jackie Chan and Indian superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Mammooty watched Tamil star Kamal Hassan's Dasavatharam at an exclusive screening in Chennai. It is said that all the three were wonderstruck by the performance of Kamal in 10 different roles, ranging from American President George Bush to a staunch Vaishnavite Nambi. The frenzy and excitement is yet to be over. Honourable Chief Minister released the audio amidst a cheery mood amongst the stars and celebrates. He handed over the audio CD to Kung Fu King Jackie Chan. Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Jayapradha, Asin and the hot Mallika Sherawat, various members of the film world, ministers were present on the occasion. Shobana stunned the audiences with her fantastic compeering in three languages - Tamil, Telugu and English. Oscar V. Ravichandran donated Rs. Five lakhs to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. This cheque was handed over by Jackie Chan to the CM.
